Lunch break @ South Street Seaport.
Ever got tired of eating the same food (mostly) at the same place during your lunch hour? I have. I’ve been bringing nothing but fastfood to my little cubicle everyday and quite frankly, I’m sick of it.
So, I decided to try something different today. I bought a fresh tossed caesar salad from Au Bon Pain instead of the usual Wendy’s/McDonald’s/Chinese food. And then to change the scenery, I walked down to the pier at South Street Seaport carrying my lunch in a paper bag. I’ve always thought of spending my hour break there just to relax, and nothing will stop me today even if I forgot to bring napkins.
Once I got there, I sat on this giant stoop and right infront of me was a gorgeous view of the East River yielding with the Hudson from the western bank. So, after wasting some precious time appreciating the view, I took a deep breathe and grabbed my lunch from the bag. I placed the salad and soda right next to me and then reached for the… "oh no, wait a minute… where the hell is it?
NOOOOOO!"
I forgot to grab the fork and the salad dressing from that damn place.
Next thing I knew, I’m back on my desk again, eating and staring at the "gorgeous" view of my cubicle because I ran out of time.
