Mountain Creek Waterpark

Gas to get to Mountain Creek Waterpark… $20, tolls to cross New Jersey… $10. Individual admission ticket… $28, Forgetting the waterproof camera in the car and too lazy to come back and get it… priceless and very stupid.

There’s a lot of things money can’t buy, for everything else… there’s laziness and stupidity.

Wanna see pictures? Sorry, you cant because there aren’t any. We forgot the waterproof camera in the car and we parked like a mile outside the waterpark to save an extra $10 on parking.

But we still had a blast. Even the drive there was hilarious. We spent like a good hour driving around Vernon, NJ looking for the waterpark, clueless that the park’s location was unseen from the road.

It rained lightly but that didn’t ruin the fun. It only made it better because there were no lines and no waiting. From the Wave Pool to the single/double tube and body slides to the raging rough water of the Colorado River and the vertical abyss of High Anxiety, the whole park was ours for the day.

But those rides are nothing compared to the ones I tried. There were these two exciting attractions designed only for advanced swimmers. One is called Tarzan Swing where you hang on the rope as long as you can, then freefall into a deep crystal pool.

The other is at the Canyon Cliffs where the objective is simple… either jump off a the cliff and drop 25 feet straight into the cold water, or slide down instead for a 20 feet of merciless drop. Either or it’s an adrenaline rush, plus ya get the meanest wedgie as you swim back to the shore :-)
