I finally had the taste of excruiciating hunger. I held on for more than 17 hours without consuming any food (except water) because I had to take a blood test. Why’d I schedule it the afternoon? I’m stupid, I know. I could’ve rescheduled it earlier but I had to work, so I dreadfully starved throughout the day.
It’s my first experience having blood taken from me (as far as I can recall). I never took a blood test before and I was anxious. I thought something may happen to me driving back home (like faint and fade) for losing blood. Not to mention the fact that I haven’t eaten all day.
What made me worried was when I saw the tube. It’s like a size of the test tube in lab class. Then I saw a patient comin’ out the examination room and had a bandage on each of arm. That’s when I got more nervous asked myself… "they take out blood from both arms?!"
Then, the moment finally came as I sat there with the nurse and asked her the same question I asked myself. She smiled and then laughed. She was like "that’s what happens when you don’t stay still! You’re not gon’ move now are you?" And I’m like "No ma’m… not even a friggin’ inch!"
