Anyways, after numerous playbacks and attempts of decyphering the song’s deep lyrical content and meaning (my tagalog is limitedly shallow ), I just discovered that the song somewhat relates to my current hopeless romantic state. I came across Ate Joyce’s bulletin in Friendster entitled "Maalaala Mo Kaya…" ("Do You Remember…" to my shallow translation) and read through a checklist of treasured mementos from my golden age. I assume this was one of those anonymously forwarded emails/posts modified from its original version. Anyways, I was reminiscing deeply and thought I’d make this entry a bit interesting like a show and tell presentation like back in elementary school. And while Googling for images to associate with this entry, I bumped into a similar blog called "Blast From The Past" from the creative mind of the Caterpillar. A major heat wave had taken over New York City for the past week. The highest temperature recorded so far was 108° farenheit excluding the scorching humidity that caused widespread power outages in some neighborhoods. Unfortunately for my friends living in Astoria and Woodside, they have no choice but to endure the blistering temperature. I pity you guys (haha). But I seriously wish you get your power back soon. Don’t worry… ConEd is "on it!" Hehe

Luckily for us… our AC is still running. But it’s still not enough to battle this oppressing heat. So, we decided to escape and cool off at the beach. This was our third time basking at beach this week. We were just at Jones Beach yesterday & Sunday, and here we are again earlier today at Robert Moses Beach, just a few miles farther than Jones. Anyways, the tide was high and the water was damn cold which was just a perfect blend to beat the heat.

So May wanted to get her eyebrows waxed today so I drove her to the Lemon Tree, a nail spa & salon near her school. She’s been goin’ there to get her brows done ever since last year and I’d usually double park the car and wait for her outside cuz it only takes less than 5 minutes.

Bored and curious, I went inside with her to watch how they do the waxing process. One thing led to another, and next thing you know I’m lying down with sticky wax (those things are hot) pasted on my eyebrows. My sister said it will be quick and painless like pulling off a bandaid.

Evidently from the video, you can see my reaction as I held my breath while the lady (who seemed to enjoy my pain) continiously pulled off the strip… YYEEEOOOWWWCCHH!
